SCERTS

SCERTS (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support) is an intervention model that is used from early years through school and beyond for children and young people with autism and a range of developmental disabilities, designed to help teachers, parents and therapists work together as a team to maximise progress for each student. SENSORY PROCESSING 

Many of our students have differences in the way their nervous systems process sensory input.  They often receive too much information (hypersensitive) or too little (hyposensitive.)  This means that they often find it difficult to process and respond to the information received by their senses.  Here at Oak Lodge, we ask parents to complete a sensory processing form on entry to the school, so that we can identify the specific needs of the students and adapt the environment or activities to suit their needs.  For more information about this please see the information below or contact the school.
