Invitation to participate in Post-16 Autism Education Research

Dear parents

Invitation to participate in Post 16 Autism Education Research

We are inviting you to support our new project on Post 16 Education. This project is is being run as part of a collaboration between Oak Lodge School, Oakbridge Special Education and the Centre for Research in Autism Education (CRAE) at UCL Institute of Education.

Why is this research important?

The team at CRAE are looking to get as many responses from autistic people and their parents/ carers aged 16-25 over the next 4 weeks. The project is looking into the impact of the changes in Post 16 education for autistic young people and their families in England, since the introduction of an important law called the Children and Families Act 2014.

As part of this project the team want to hear from schools and colleges where autistic people attend, to find out what works well and what doesn’t work so well. The hope is this work will lead to better recommendations around what good practice is for autistic young people and their families. The work will be carried out from researchers at the Centre for Research in Autism Education (CRAE) at UCL Institute of Education.
