Oak Lodge School, Barnet: Holidays in Term Time

Holidays in Term Time

Parents do not have the right to take their child out of school for a holiday during term time.

From September 2013, the rules relating to student absence from school changed. The 2013 amendment to the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 makes clear that headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.

We understand that holidays are more expensive during school holiday times. However holidays do not count as exceptional circumstances and the school will no longer be able to grant any holiday requests.
